Partner: Fuller Public Library
Fuller Public Library in Hillsborough has been housed in the Governor John Butler Smith House since 1926. John Butler Smith was the Governor of New Hampshire from 1893-1895. Being in a Victorian mansion is both a blessing (fantastic architecture, decorative ceilings, and carved woodwork) and a challenge (repairs, repairs, repairs). We love it ! Fuller Library has three Big Read programs planned. One will examine why Poe is considered the "Master of the Macabre". The second program will be a discussion of a Poe short story and a poem through the library's literacy program, Project LIFT. The third program will be a night of Poetry with Poe in conjuction with Hillsboro-Deering High School.
