Learning about Poe

Edgar Allan Poe wrote numerous poems, tales, and essays. The volume of work he created, however, is dwarfed by the mountains of books, articles, and websites about him. In preparation for our Big Read, a selected resource list of this material has been compiled (mostly by our amazing 2011 Center for the Book intern Taylor Colegrove) and added to the "Poe Resources" page of this site.
Throughout our Big Read we will be posting information here on our website about the individual works of Edgar Allan Poe as well as about works inspired by him.

Welcome to the Big Read!

The Center for the Book at the NH State Library was very pleased to receive a Big Read grant this year from the National Endowment for the Arts to support our Fall 2012 Big Read focusing on the work of Edgar Allan Poe. Our project has also received financial support from the NH Library Association.

We are in the process right now of arranging programs and gathering materials to help New Hampshire residents learn about Poe and his work and to provide a wide range of opportunities for Granite Staters to read Poe's work and discuss it with one another.
